Updated Class Schedule
We've added more fun classes to our summer schedule - check them out!
Sunday, July 15, 1PM: Wire-wrapped Rings
This class will focus on the hidden beads ring (upper pic) - a ring which looks different depending on the size and shape of the bead you choose to wrap (If you have a favorite ring set aside at home, and you'd like to use it, bring it to class!). This class builds on the skills learned in the basic pendant class, but beginners will have no problems mastering this technique.
Once all the students have finished their hidden bead ring, Daniel will teach a bonus class - the bird's nest ring (lower pic). This is a fun, easy, and quick way to showcase a favorite bead, and a technique you'll enjoy recreating over and over - this ring makes a great gift, too!
Class fee: $35 plus supplies, $15 deposit required for registration.
Sunday, July 29, 1PM: Wire-wrapped Geometric Bracelet
This is a classic favorite here at YaYa Beads, and elegant wire design that looks great with every outfit! This is a wonderful beginner class, as the basic information about wire and tools is covered thoroughly before students move on to working with the wire.
Class fee: $35 plus supplies, $15 deposit required for registration.

Summer Seed Sale
You beadweavers know - there are so many beautiful seed beads out there, in gorgeous colors, fun shapes - no shop could possibly carry them all! YaYa Beads has the area's largest seed bead selection, by far - but we want MORE!
We have absolutely run out of room to add seed beads - and we want to add long magatamas, 1.5 mm cubes, and more to our inventory. So we need your help! We simply have to clear out some of our existing seed beads to make room for new ones!
Welcome to our Summer Seed Bead Sale - all seed beads 15% off, starting Friday, June 8, and running through Saturday, June 16. All YaYa Bead Club Members will receive an additional 10% off (with their current cards, of course!) - so if you have been thinking about joining our Bead Club, now is the perfect time!
And don't forget - we have some fun classes coming up (click the link for a complete listing):
Friday, June 22: Tila flower components class
Learn to make these flower components with Tila beads (one of the fantastic seed bead shapes that goes on sale tomorrow!), and then link them together to create a bracelet (or leave them as they are: they make beautiful earrings, too!) 10:30 AM - 4PM
Sunday, June 24: Wire-Wrapped Cabochon Pendant
Our popular introductory wire wrapping class, where students will learn the basics of wirework, including tools and types of wire, and also make a beautiful pendant. 1PM - 6PM
Lots more classes scheduled, too - click the link to learn more!

Gearing up for Summer Classes
Summer's right around the corner, and we have a full schedule of classes on tap, starting next month.
Have you worked with Tila beads yet? These flat, double-drilled seed beads are versatile, and so much fun! We have a nice selection of colors, and on Friday, June 22 will be offering a beadweaving class, teaching how to make Tila flowers, flat floral components that look great as earrings, or can be linked together to make bracelets and necklaces:
Tila flower earrings:
Tila Flower bracelet:
This design uses a combination of peyote and herringbone stitches. Class will start at 10:30 AM, end at 4 PM. Once the flower itself is mastered, the class will concentrate on making more flowers, and then converting them into the desired design (earrings and/or bracelet and/or necklace). Students who master the flower component and feel comfortable assembling the earrings and bracelet on their own need not stay until the end of class! Fee: $35.00 plus supplies (we will be using FireLine, for those wishing to bring their own from home); $15.00 deposit required at registration.
Sunday, August 12, 1PM: Wire-wrapping, Basic Cabochon Pendant - see class description for June 24, (above).
Sunday, August 26, 1PM: Wire-wrapping, Project To Be Announced - we will be scheduling this class later this summer, based on customer requests received at the shop. If there is a particular class you have been wanting to take, now is your chance to see it on the schedule - come see us, and let us know what you'd be interested in taking!
Let us know if you are interested in a resin or cold connections class, or maybe even another type of class, and we'll see what we can do to add it to the schedule!
Hope to see you soon!

Cold Connections Returns
Our Cold Connections Metalworking Workshop returns on Saturday & Sunday, April 28-29. This is a terrific, intense 2-day workshop jam-packed with basic Cold Connections techniques, including cutting, sawing, annealing, etching, texturing, patination, and so much more. Students usually create anywhere from 6 to 12 pieces, depending on the size and complexity of the designs they choose. This is a very flexible class - no kits! Everyone makes whatever they choose, with lots of guidance, helpful tips, and hands-on instruction from the workshop leader. The fee for this 2 day workshop is $145 (nonrefundable registration deposit: $65), and includes handout materials, all supplies needed to learn the techniques and to make your pieces, as well as use of tools, etc. The only additional fees would be if you choose to use beads, crystals, etc from the shop as embellishment, or if you want bails, chain, earwires, or other materials to finish off your designs. If you have tools you wish to bring, or interesting found objects texturing implements - feel free!
More information about this workshop can be found here.
More information about this workshop can be found here.
For any interested students, we will be offering an optional 3rd day of Cold Connections instruction on Monday, April 30. On this 3rd day of class, some more advanced techniques such as fold-forming will be taught, and students can also dig deeper into any previously-learned techniques according to their own lines of interest. The fee for this optional 3rd day is $65 ($35 non-refundable deposit required for registration).

Updated Class Schedule, & More
Here is the latest schedule for our upcoming specialty classes:
Resinate: Creating beautiful resin jewelry; Saturday, February 25, 12 noon
Thanks to the input of the wonderful students who took our inaugural resin class, the instructor has revised this course and can now accomplish the class goals in one day. Each student will learn how to create resin jewelry components from start to finish, and leave the class with (at least) 3 pendants. Resin pieces need to cure for 72 hours prior to finishing, so the clean-up and finishing techniques will be demonstrated in class, and students may then (carefully) take their pieces home to complete the process after they cure.
Class fee: $55 (includes all supplies); $25 deposit required for registration.
Wire-wrapped Teardrop cabochon earrings: Sunday, March 11, 1 PM:
This class build on the skills learned in the cabochon pendant class; this is technically a beginner-level class, and no prerequisite wire skills are required, but because the stones are much smaller than the pendant, some folks find this class a little more difficult when first starting out.
Class fee: $35 plus supplies; $15 deposit required for registration.
Wire-wrapped Beaded Bracelet: Sunday, April 22, 1 PM:
Select your favorite 3 to 4 mm beads to create this beaded bangle bracelet!
Class fee: $35 plus supplies; $15 deposit required for registration.
We have hundreds and hundreds of gorgeous new colors and shapes in Czech pressed glass and fire polish beads - come check them out!
